You don't have to make us love you, Bonnie.
We took my mother to see my musical mother, Bonnie Raitt, at the Grand Ole Opry on Sunday, October 1. We were so determined to not miss this show that we purchased last-minute tickets in a column, not a row. The four of us sat in a line on the floor. It was worth it.
She performed a few numbers from her most recent studio release, Souls Alike peppered with a few classics (Something to Talk About, I Can't Make You Love Me, Angel from Montgomery).
My favorite moment of the evening was I Will Not Be Broken, perhaps the most spiritual secular song ever - pretty much my anthem.
